Alzheimer's Organization Links:

The Alzheimer's Association - a national network of chapters, is the largest national voluntary health organization committed to finding a cure for Alzheimer's and helping those affected by the disease. Includes information for both people with Alzheimer's, caregivers and family friends.

The Alzheimer's Disease Education and Referral (ADEAR) Center - This center provides information about Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. The ADEAR Center is a clearinghouse supported by the National Institute on Aging (NIA) that provides information Alzheimer's Disease, publications, and other related organizations. Contact their toll-free number at 800-438-4380.

The NIA is one of the National Institutes of Health under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

Alzheimer's Disease International (ADI) - An umbrella group of 60 Alzheimer associations throughout the world, which offer support and information to people with dementia and their caregivers.

MedlinePlus - a service of the United States National Library of Medicine at the National Institutes of Health. It provides the news, current research, overviews, relevant organizations, and even a glossary of terms for many disorders.

ElderCare Online - Provides information, online support groups and scheduled chats.\

Caregiver Resources - Provided by the Alzheimer Disease Research Center. Includes caregiver resources, clinical care guides, and personal home pages.

Overview of Dementia & other brain disorders - On this link, the Los Angeles Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association offers an overview of dementia and the differences between various forms of dementia, Alzheimer's, Parkinson and other brain disorders.
